PE (Physical Education)
We love to be active at Capel Manor and we think PE is extremely important!
At Capel Manor Primary school, we recognise the importance of PE and the role it has to play in promoting long term, healthy lifestyles. The intent of our PE curriculum is to provide all children with high quality PE and sport provision. It is our vision for every pupil to succeed and achieve their potential as well as to lead physically active lifestyles. We strive to inspire our pupils through fun and engaging PE lessons that are enjoyable, challenging and accessible to all. We want our pupils to appreciate the benefits of a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Through our teaching of PE, we will provide opportunities for pupils to develop our school values and transferable life skills such as fairness and respect as well as providing them with opportunities to take part in competitive sport.
Throughout their time at Capel Manor children will:
- Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities.
- Meet the needs of every child.
- Be physically active for sustained periods of time.
- Provide a caring, positive and supportive environment in which children will flourish.
- Provide a broad, engaging and relevant curriculum.
- Engage in competitive sport and activities.
- Learn how to collaborate with others, as a team.
- Lead healthy and active lives.
This is how PE is taught at Capel Manor.

School Games Award Mark* - Platinum
We are delighted to have been recognised for our success! With all of our KS2 pupils competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded with a Platinum School Games Mark this year! We are so proud of our school and this spectacular achievement! This means we are recognised as a school that provides lots of opportunities within sport to help pupils build their competence, performance, creativity and to lead healthy active lifestyle! We look forward to reapplying in the future!

Active Lives Survey - Summer 2021
Mrs Routledge would like to say a big thank you to Y2 Sycamore, Y4 Maple and Y6 Rowan class for completing the Sport England - Active Lives Surveys during last term. Thank you very much to the Y2 Sycamore parents who completed the parent survey, the school is so grateful for your input. Over 90 pupil surveys were completed and I am pleased to say that Sport England have gifted us 28 credits to spend on new sports equipment for completing the surveys which is very exciting! Capel Manor will receive a school data report from Sport England by the middle of June. On the report we will also find out if we have received a Healthy Schools Rating Award from the Department of Education. Stay tuned!
