1. Can children have packed lunch some days and cooked lunch the other days?

We ask the parents to decide each half term on what their child will be having. It is fine to swap around every half term and if there is a problem the teachers and office are always there to support you.

2. How long will it take for the children to start school?

The transition process has been cut down to make it as easy as possible especially for our working parents. The whole process takes three weeks and your child will start full time as long as they have settled and you and the child are happy.

3. Do younger children eat lunch with older children?

Reception are the first year to receive their lunch. They start lunch 10 minutes before the rest of the school. They will be seated eating their lunch when the other year groups join them. Outside Reception have their own playground and therefore are not with the other year groups.

 4. How do you deal with allergies?

We deal with all sorts of allergies from minor to severe. For minor allergies we encourage parents to bring in medication such as Piriton when prescribed by a doctor. For food or more severe allergies, parents will have a consultation with our medical/welfare team and complete a care plan. All staff are trained to use an epi-pen. All medication given must be prescribed by a doctor. The medical team are always there to support you and your child.

5. Do the children get reading books and homework?

Yes, the homework is based around what we have been learning in school. It is there to support and develop your child’s understanding but also to give you an insight to what we have been learning about and how you can support your child’s learning at home. Reading books are given when we think your child is ready. In the meantime we encourage parents to read stories and books with their children every night.

6. Can the parents come in to class at all?

In October we are going to start parent reading once a week. This is an opportunity for parents to see their child in class by coming in and sharing a story.  We have class workshops that go on throughout the year and parents will get an invite to join in with these.
