Trips
We encourage trips at Capel Manor school and getting children outdoors is one of our main ‘curriculum drivers’. Trips can include local visits, such as to local library, as well as visits further afield into London for example.
We encourage at least one school trip per term where possible, as we know that by providing our children with as many experiences in the wider world will help them to broaden their outlook on life and the opportunities that may await them in the future.
Every year, each class has one RE based trip. Over their time at Capel Manor, they will have visited a place of worship for all major religions in modern Britain.
Year 1 - Church
Year 2 - Mosque
Year 3 - Synagogue
Year 4 - Hindu Temple
Year 5 - Gudwara
Year 6 - Mosque
Other successful trips in the past have included Year 1 going to Legoland, Year 5 going to Westminster, Reception children going on a Gruffalo Hunt and Year 3 going to the Science Museum.
We take our Year 6 children on their annual residential trip.
Our wonderful Friend of Capel Manor’s fund-raising enables us to annually pay for a coach for each class across the school to attend at trip at a reduced cost for our parents.
All our trips are fully risk-assessed to ensure all areas of Health and Safety are taken in to consideration when planning and organising a trip.
